TFIL Measuring Guide
To ensure that we understand your space fully, we need exact measurements to include the following: – Room dimensions showing the location and shape of windows ie: bay, velux, French doors etc. (in metres or centimetres)
Door dimensions including & excluding architrave. Point out which direction the doors open ie: left to right or right to left.
Fireplace (if relevant) location, dimensions including harth dimensions.
Ceiling height.
Location of wall lights, ceiling lights, pendants.
Location of lights switches, power sockets which are currently in place or which need to be installed.
Location and size of radiators.
Location and size of television.
We don’t need architects drawings. You can print out the floorpan of your property (if you don’t have it – these can be obtained by the agent who sold you your home) and hand draw your measurements on this plan, photograph it and load it onto your questionnaire.
A completely hand drawn floor plan is also fine, you just need to be as clear as possible in regards to which measurements refer to each wall.
