TFIL Measuring Guide

To ensure that we understand your space fully, we need exact measurements to include the following: – Room dimensions showing the location and shape of windows ie: bay, velux, French doors etc. (in metres or centimetres)

  • Door dimensions including & excluding architrave. Point out which direction the doors open ie: left to right or right to left.

  • Fireplace (if relevant) location, dimensions including harth dimensions.

  • Ceiling height.

  • Location of wall lights, ceiling lights, pendants.

  • Location of lights switches, power sockets which are currently in place or which need to be installed.

  • Location and size of radiators.

  • Location and size of television.

  • We don’t need architects drawings. You can print out the floorpan of your property (if you don’t have it – these can be obtained by the agent who sold you your home) and hand draw your measurements on this plan, photograph it and load it onto your questionnaire.

  • A completely hand drawn floor plan is also fine, you just need to be as clear as possible in regards to which measurements refer to each wall.
